INkoMind: FIVE-SIX
February 20, 2012
Haha…laughed at me. I have been hearing about this type of lending method known as five-six or 5/6, but it have never occurred to me that this means that when a person lend and amount of five thousand pesos at 20% interest the total amount that the lender due to pay would be mounted to six thousand pesos already. Pardon my ignorance. One, I am not into this business so I am not familiar with its nature. Two, I just couldn’t reconcile right away the explanation on how come when a lender loaned a thousand pesos still charge at 20% interest and are paying a two thousand pesos can also be called 5/6.So they say that this terms applies to any amount to be loaned.

INkoMind: THE YOUTH COME AFTER US
I often heard old folks saying lines like, ”What is happening to our youth today?” . Come on guys. These youth comes after us. They are not our parents. They are not our models. We are not taking experience from them; they are taken experience from us. We are not the beneficiary of the future; they are.
This is just a cycle, don’t you think folks? Who we are now; what we are now are because of the glory of our past, and we are only have benefited today what our past has done or delivered .
SALT JOURNAL-02(Back and Forward
March 10, 2010It had been, what, a couple of months since the last time I blogged.Nothing personal, it is me.Not only that I became frustrated of my grammar, but also I was financially challenged which caused me to step back a bit and analyzed where I was heading. But it’s all right during those months most of my times were spent to self-study and self-evaluation. In self-study I learned that I still have ten football field to cover up,and as of self-evaluation I found no changes on what I want to do , except that today I am most persistent and zealous person more than ever.I still want to become a writer ;novelist. I am much willing now to see and experience the word, and the world must see and experience me.This is my new cultivated motivation. And I will not stop until writing will take me seriously.
To build more confidents, I made a lot of things. Two of these are, one, I cut out few pictures of Manny Pacquiao and pasted together in a cardboard where I put somewhere where I can easily see. I believe Mr.Pacquiao is a man with few words but full of substance. He possesses many traits that can be looked upon to improve oneself. For example, his intelligence, perseverance, being hard working, awesome faith with God, overflowing self-confident and a mountain of good outlooks, and humbleness.Truly a great champion. I also cut out pictures of an SLR camera and a laptop for my blogging and writing uses. Looking at them every morning boost my motivations and encourage me to firmly focus, continue believing to myself, and keep fiery passion in everything that I do.
Having absorbed positivity outlooks in my life , I could say I am more relax now and tend not to pamper worries and indecisons as before. The vagabond has finally founnd her aerie.Quitely comfortable now because I know what I want to achieve.
Tubong-Lugaw
October 4, 2009“Tubong-lugaw ” is a Filipino entrepreneurship term for “small capital, large return” investments. “Tubo” means profit, “lugaw” means porridge. It derived from a very popular street food business “lugawan” which serve people who are looking for cheaper food that’s fit their limited budget. One serving of lugawan before ranges from P5.00 to P10.00 per bowl, currently, it runs from P15.00 to P25.00 for special serving . According to the vendors, profit is really good for this business. From your initial capital that is less than a thousand pesos the return is triple or five folds. And it also important to have a regular supplier of your resourses so you can ask a discount. Resources fortunately for this venture are available locally which made this business easy to acquire.
Some of the “tubong-lugaw” businessess are camote(sweet potato) fries , boiled banana, sweet corn, fried peanuts and many others. And all of this are locally available on streets all over the Philippines.
Filipinos Hunger For Educations
September 30, 2009It is a common and I guess, even an overly used sayings that ” Love, even if its barred by spears or cannons, it will defiantly conquire everything”. Not even floods could stopped any humans from his love. This sayings is also quite true for Filipinos in terms of educations. Educations is the priceless thing we could have even if we are poor of material things. And even if the media will tell us that there are a large deficiency of classrooms, teachers, chairs and school facilities we are not discourage. Infact the turned out of enrolles, this year, in the public school are overwhelming. Even if the ratio now per classroom is 70:1 teacher; and even if 150 students -of different level crammed in one classroom like sardines; even if other students do their class under the shade of the trees, stage, corridors and stairs, these cannot stopped us from aquiring the education we value more than the roofs and walls that would shield us from the sun and the rain.
Manny Paquiao’s Eco-Park
September 26, 2009If this plan will push through, the eco-park will surely generate jobs in GenSan City. The government and the business sectors salutes Mr. Pacquiao’s plan to give the Mindanaoan a gift that the government has been encouraging people to do so. This, inspite some Manny Pacquiao’s fans from the different part of the country ,who have not yet forgiven GenSan for their rejection over Mr. Paquiao’s ability to serve his town people quite contradecting. But, as we all already knew Manny -as a kind hearted hero and a gentleman-don’t keep grudges in his heart, thought and felt differently. GenSan is his hometown and he cannot just be blind of what his town badly needed. Now a business tycon himself he seems to priorities what he can do for his fellow Mindanaoan.
Our True Mission
September 20, 2009If we talk about mission in life, we frequently referred these as serving others especially the poor brothers and sisters. Some are ardently participating religious mission and advocacy thinking that through them, God will give us merits. So the point is there~our true mission are not really towards other people but back to our selves.
Our Own redemptions. Serving others and foremost, serving God in our own little way are to strengthen our spiritual aspects are the essential ingredients to assured heaven. We don’t need to go about jumping from one religion to another hoping to secure deliverance. Spiritual maturity will be our ticket to eventually meet our Creator, after this life .
Numbers
September 13, 2009Our lives is run by numbers. Numbers of our age tell us to behave according to. Numbers in our watch tell us to start moving, time won’t wait. Numbers in our calculators tell us that calculation is necessary to reach the right decisions. Numbers in our calendars remind us specicial events of our lives. Numbers in every dance steps tell us brief but memorable enjoyment. Numbers in our remote controls tell us that we have a lot of option to get off from the boring pace of our lives. Numbers in our cellphones tell us that the world are becoming smaller .
Young Entrepreneur
September 8, 2009Nowadays, more and more young adults are involved in these lively and challenging world of entrepreneurship. They have various reasons to start of: self-reliance, other, by accident, push by friends or relative, there are those who said, destiny. Whatever it is, they are in the field determined to nail their name or their own identity in the market. They are not staggered of the heavy competition. They are, they said, risk takers.
Along the way, they forge their knowledge and skills. Constantly alert of the fast changing market. And they looked tireless and weaver less in these crowded yet highly competitive business arena. The young generations are the future of our country. And these government are taken serious moves to promote self-reliance among the citizens, for economic development and self-efficiency reason. Informations and technologies are easily accessible in the Internet; either to promote, market their products or to acquire knowledge and ideas.
SEX EDUCTION-relevant or not?
September 3, 2009Every school year, one of the clamor that repeatedly echoes and never fails to catch public attention is about “sex education”. It is constantly the battle of Pros and Cons, and the government in the middle, which until now cannot decide whether this subject is relevant and important to cause public alarm. The Pro group thought this issue is necessary to be taught in school as part of the regular curriculum, but the Con group are worried believing that our youth are not ready and that, this matter may compromised our youth awareness rather than helping them.
Dead End No
August 25, 2009We oftentimes mistakes failures as dead end but the truth is failure is just part of the process of learning more about life and knowing more ourselves; our strength and capabilities. Failure destroy the weak, it is strength to the courageous heart. Strength because they see oppurtunities to develop themselves and ways to use such opportunities positively. It matters not how much we failed inspite all the effort but the way we accepted the challenges is already an accomplishment itself.
Ex-convicts
August 18, 2009Outside, some unfortunate people recourse to crimes for survival. They were not just given much choice to live decently. INSIDE, they were molded to become a new person who already have high regards of life, hopes, dreams and courage to face their adversities. A renewed people with a new honors and convictions to God and to themselves. Men who have already directions in life. Because only in prison they have set themselves free, sheltered from the cruelty in the world. In prison they were treated humanely, loved and have loved , cared and who cared in return. They who were murdered by the society but resurrected to become and inspiration to others.
Music and Me
July 28, 2009Music is my constant companion. It is like a battery that energized me morning, noon and night. It never fails to soothes my soul like a gentle dew or refresh my spirits during dull moments. Pop, standard, classical and love songs are among my favorites. They contained my craving to deny solitudes. Music accompanied me like a friend constantly bringing good news. It never wears my ears, keeping me wanting for more. That’s music and me.
Collecting Set My Spirit Free
July 15, 2009I love to collect everything that for me showed beauty and arts, also those articles that improved my knowledge. But since I don’t have considerable generous finances for expensive and genuinely collectible items, I recourse in old magazines and newspapers for pictures (places, nature, arts). I also love to collect stamps and recipes. I usually compile them into my handmade scrapbooks with annotations. Everytime I feel depressed or bored I just pick one and let my eyes savour the enormous beauty of the world away or the things beyond my reach, in every pages.
My Dream House
July 3, 2009One of the major thing that I will considered buying in the near future is a house. And the house shall be erected near the beach. Not as much as I really love to swim but the view for sure will be worthy. The depict view of the vast ocean and the beautiful nature at the back that would met my eyes every minute of the day is an abysmal bliss. The serenity it brings specially when I am writing and the cool breeze that is relaxing. The beach house shall be modernly designed with a touch of Spanish style. Conceptually painted in white and wood color; with wood panelled polished floors, large flanks accentuated the ceilings, with glass panelled windows and walls. It will be surrounded by simple but exquisite lanscaping with an eternity pool which facing the ocean. At the back run a long corridor and at the far end lays my prayer room. The furniture will be minimalist but stylish, a combination of antiques painting and decors. It will be a three bedroom two stories “tisa” roofted house. This house will be my gift to my parents as well as to my self.
McDuko-Duko
June 13, 2009This is another street food here in the Philippines, particularly, in Cebu City that really helped past and todays professionals and current students and, for sure future students in the generations to come to survive from their small allowances.
It is originally called as “pungko-pungko” or “sitting on your haunces”. Why is that? It is because the food is place inside a whiker basket and lined inside a manila paper to protect the food from the dust and flies. And usually the basket is placed on a low bences or on the ground so the customers need to go down to their haunces to pick out the food. The term McDuko-Duko came only much later when the famous fastfood chain in the U.S. came to the Philippines. “Pungko-pungko” was replaced by McDuko-Duko to make it sound “social” or class. It also fit to the business because “duko” means in our dialect as “vowing of head” . And one need to vow their heads to pick out the food. Food that are sold at McDuko-Duko are nothing related to burger instead they are of locally made meat roll, chiness chorizo and fried and spiced squids. Inspite clamors for the cleanliness of this business, I guess, McDuko-Duko will continue to stick in its place to serve strudents. The business has been here so long that I could remember, since I also patronized this food when I was in my schooling years.
Used Cooking Oil To Treat Diarrhea?
June 1, 2009Yesterday, May 31,2009, we have a small gathering in our place. I was able to chat with my cousins and some neighbors. From one topic to another, some were serious and some are ridiculous. One of this ridiculous topic directed to a rumors that some of the Cebuano used cooking oil to cure diarrhea. One of our neighbor bursted this information, and she added that a friend of her were actually tried this remidies to her child who had diarrhea and proved the idea really works. My cousins and I were dumbfounded and shocked since we don’t really on to self-medications practices, most especially if it concerns children. We thought this idea is a kind of a child abuse to medicate something that does not have any medical approval. Well, the child might just lucky to survive at her mother’s foolishness. Beside diarrhea medicine is cheap and its available in the local baranggay center for free.
